Many
law firms have branch offices. They
would like to track the income and
costs for each office, while maintaining
a combined Income Statement and
Balance Sheet for the entire firm.
Micro Craft's new Dual Profit Center
GL allows you to do this. You can
print an Income Statement for Office
#1, Office #2 and a combined Income
Statement for both.
Setup
of GL Account Numbers
All
income and expense General Ledger
account numbers (4xxxx to 9xxxx)
should end in 1 or 2, depending
on which office the income or expense
belongs to. If an account ends in
0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9, it will
not appear on the Office #1 or #2
income statement but will appear
on the combined Income Statement.
The
Dual Profit Center GL manual teaches
you the naming conventions to use
in creating the GL numbers, and
how to change your existing GL numbers
if you are updating to the Dual
Profit Center version of GL 8.0d.
